Today's Nebraska Class A state boys basketball championship matchup is set, featuring a highly anticipated showdown between Omaha Westside and Papillion-La Vista South. The Warriors enter with a 24-4 record, while the Titans stand at 25-3.

Both teams have been dominant offensively this season, with Westside averaging 70.1 points per game and Papio South putting up 70.7. Westside has the edge in rebounding and shot-blocking, while the Titans thrive in ball movement, leading in assists per game.

The key matchup to watch will be between Westside’s Emre Gedik and Papio South's Bryson Bahl. Gedik is averaging 14.3 points per game. Bahl has been the top scorer and rebounder for the Titans, with 21.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Playmaking will also be crucial, with Westside’s Lee Robinson averaging 4.5 assists while Papio South's Reece Kircher leads the way with 7.3.

These teams have met twice this season, with the Titans winning both games. The first was a one-point Metro Conference championship thriller, 60-59, while the second saw Papio South pull away with a 70-52 victory. With two wins already secured, the Titans will look to complete the sweep, while Westside will fight for redemption with a state championship on the line.

Adding to the excitement, Meddys, Omaha’s newest Mediterranean restaurant, is offering a special promotion. If the total combined score of the championship game reaches 100 points or more, everyone can get 10 percent off their order during Meddys' grand opening week, March 17-21.
